Circle of Influence
The Circle of Influence (COI) is an "action focused" network that seeks to strengthen the connections between Compassion Action Network's partners.
The COI grew out of the bi-yearly faith forums when participants expressed a desire to have a platform where they could connect with and learn from each other on a regular basis.
The COI meets monthly (see below) to network around common topics, share resources and information, encourage action, and support our community in tangible ways. Each monthly meeting includes:
- Introductions
- Presentation on specific topic or by a local organization
- Forum update/discussion
- Partner updates/resource sharing
Past Presenters include:
- Central Center for Family Resources
- Home Instead Community Care
- Kinship
- CEAP (Community Emergency Assistance Program )
- Violence Prevention
- Youth First
- Mounds View/Blaine/Spring Lake Park Fire Department
- Bags of Love" gifts for children in foster care
- Judicare
Here are a few connections made as a result of participation in COI:
1.A mental health agency filled a need for a volunteer receptionist by connecting with a program that trains volunteers and places low-income seniors in settings where they can gain job skills and experience.
2.A social worker looking for household supplies and furniture for a family received various items from a local church.
3.A Muslim woman working on getting her driver's license connected with another Muslim woman who was willing to help her practice driving.

As one of the Circle participants said,
"Now I have a place to generate ideas and make connections - I don't feel like I'm doing this all on my own anymore."
